Team ‘Africa 2 Ormond’ has decided to raise money for three charities.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity

Our prime charity, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC),Great Ormond Street Hospital is a children’s hospital in London that provides specialist treatment for children from all over the country and world. The work Great Ormond Street Hospital does, affects families around the world. GOSH saw 103,329 people last year at a cost of £217.5 million. We aim to raise at least £10,000 for GOSHCC.

Student Partnership Worldwide

Student Partnership Worldwide is an international development charity that recruits and trains young adults (aged 18-28) as volunteer Peer Educators, to lead programmes that address urgent health and environmental issues in Africa and Asia. SPW currently has more than 800 volunteer Peer Educators in the field reaching 400,000 young people each year at an annual cost of just £5 per child. Your money will go towards keeping this service going. We are aiming to raise £5000 for SPW.

Hope and Homes for Children

Hope and Homes for Children works in Eastern Europe and Africa. To give hope to the poorest children in the world - those who are orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable - by enabling them to grow up within the love of a family and the security of a home, so that they can fulfil their potential. HHC’s vision is to make a world where every child feels loved. For example £10 gives a child from an institution a Christmas and Birthday present or pays for an igitogotogo - a wooden bike - for a child in Rwanda to help them transport their crops to market. £1000 provides a simple new home for a child-headed household in Africa enabling us to keep the family together or enables us to send a specialist volunteer from the UK - such as a physiotherapist - to work with children with special needs in Eastern Europe. We aim to raise £5000 for HHC.
