'I have always relied on the kindness of strangers'
Well we have now been in Uganda for just over a month and apart from Georgie being delighted to meet up with old friends (from both Uganda, school and parent's friends) the overriding factor has been Rob’s mysterious series of illnesses.
At first we thought it was food poisoning, then malaria now an amoeba.
Not much to report except that he is now on the mend and that we have been looked after so much by relative strangers.
Thanks go out to Dave Balmer for being the most kind hearted person we have had the privilege to meet in Jinja. For putting us up, feeding us and allowing Rob to ‘mong’. To Jolly for cleaning up after us and making sure there is always milk for coffee. To BB, Em, Jude etc for keeping an eye out for us.
And to Mr Fisher of Kingfisher in Queen Elizabeth who was an absolute legend and gave us a room to recover in so that the tent could stay packed away. The views in this stunning place also helped to give us a sense of the wider picture even when feeling awful.
Honestly I don’t know what we would have done without these people.
