Northern Ethiopia
Simon Hannah and Betty together with the Swiss couple Tom and Ellen moved North from Lake Tana and the blue Nile towards Gonder where they had a poor night's sleep, being disturbed in the early hours by a row betwwen the owner and his wife. Great.
As they have a 2 week visa for Sudan and the boat from Wadi Halfa only leaves on Wednesdays they decided that would enter Sudan on Thursday to give themselves maximum time in Sudan. That left time for exploring a little of the North of Ethiopia.
So they moved towards the Simien Natiional Reserve (written on my map as Simen. -ed) and have spent one night at Dabat or Debark, and another at N13 15.684 E038 11.65. Guide book and Google make the place look very interesting geographically and for the animals. It is a special reserve for the gelada baboon, so I hope Betty survives with all antennae working.
On Wednesday 27th they were heading for the border and are at Aykel ready to cross into Sudan on Thursday.
