Still at Ixopo. Muddy. Should be away soon.
11th October 2007
This report is culled from emails and phone calls received in the past 24 hours.
They are still in Ixopo.
Still no sign of a let up in the weather but hopefully it will clear up next week. This is the wettest Oct they have had on the farm for 17 years and already we have helped remove three stuck vehicles, one of which was a 20 tonne lorry.
Everyone seems to be well and are excited to be driving Betty off road, although they did get badly bogged down and required a tow to rescue them. [Did they get stuck or were they the rescuers?-ed]
Just one more thing to do on the land rover (had a problem with the winch gear) and then we will be all set.
We are looking at leaving this weekend and heading straight for East London where we are meeting SPW (Student Partnership Worldwide) and spending a day with them. Georgie can’t wait to see the Uganda equivalent in this country (SA).
Sounds like they are going to cut short the SA travel, and attempt to catch up with the original timetable as far as possible
There has been some difficulty transferring photos to the laptop and Hannah said she may have to drop them to disk and post them to us. Sending them over a dial up modem is just another one of the problems they will also have to overcome.
