Our route will take us through desert, rain forest and savannah testing not only us but also our vehicle. Along the way we hope to see as many different cultures, climates and environments as possible in the time frame we have.

Route selection

We started by looking at where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office advised not to go. They gave us a channel through East Africa that we decided to take. The route was then made to provide a short test journey via Victoria Falls and return to South Africa to work out any problems that may arise. We will then work our way up through the eastern countries staying at places that we have been told are worth visiting, where the guide books suggest going, friends houses and a couple of places we have been to before. We wanted to have a basic knowledge of each country we intend to visit so made our own country files.
